My cousin Donald's wife, Mimi, has taken up watercolor late in her life. I've been very impressed with her talent and choice of subject matter. She reads my blog, so she knows I love lichen and sent this watercolor as a Christmas gift.
I LOVE it!!
What I love even more is that she uses her resources wisely and painted the lichen on the back of another watercolor that I love too.
What to do???????

How sweet of her. Both of them are quite lovely!
thinking about you, dear friend and praying, too.
You know, sister, if she'd sent that to ME, it would have cost less postage since I'm closer. (OK. It wouldn't really have.....)
My plan for your life: Have it custom framed with a matte on the "back" side that matches the size of the matte on the "front." Then have a frame made that would just hold the two sides together around the outside, so both sides are visible (sort of like the frame I used for Margi's spoons). Hang it somewhere that both sides can be seen. (OK, I'm visualizing your house, and I can't figure out where that would be 'cause I can't remember all the details! But, maybe you can see it.)
Happy New Lichen!

Hi, it's a very great blog.
i could tell how much efforts you've taken on it.
Keep doing!
Sweet artwork. I would have it framed so that you can just turn it around when you feel like a change. Maybe Brian can help you...I think he has done some framing for Rachel.
Absolutely wonderful and very thoughtful. Hope you are having a great New Year so far!
God Bless,
Jackie
